Desks to Data: Education changed forever!

Why AI-Powered learning is the next big thing in education?

Hey everyone,

First, my apologies for sharing this newsletter after months. đŸ™đŸ»

I was caught-up in building something in the backdrop, will announce soon 😃

Ok, let’s get to the point of today’s newsletter.

So, I noticed an interesting correlation between the uses of chatGPT & academic cycle of students and that led me to get to this newsletter. If you are directly/indirectly connected to education, this 2 min read should be worth your time..

First, In today’s email:

Podcast of the week:

OK. here is why I have decided to share podcast with you every week: While driving back from office to home, I tune into 1-2 podcasts and therefore you get the best marketing /growth podcasts out of selected 10-12 podcasts.

Listening to podcast is a good habit, let’s embrace this 😃

Here's an interesting trend I've noticed since AI hit the scene around last year, When schools shut their doors for summer around May and June, ChatGPT's traffic takes a sudden nosedive.

See, the reason isn't hard to guess. While we learn in school that correlation doesn't always mean causation, as students taking both in-person and online classes, we've seen firsthand that students are the biggest users of AI. Take a look around any library these days - you'll spot ChatGPT on almost every computer screen, but hardly any open books. It's a bit sad, but that's the reality.

I spoke to many teachers on this and clearly they aren’t a big fan of Ai, and I get that. However, I strongly believe that AI can not only democratize the learning but make it highly personalised for each learner.

I know it sounds like buzzwords but i have some news to share on this..

Just yesterday, Andrej Karpathy (you might know him as an OpenAI co-founder and former Tesla AI boss) launched something called Eureka Labs. He's calling it "a new kind of school that is AI native."

The basic idea behind Eureks Labs? Mix world class course content with AI teaching assistants. This could help anyone, anywhere, learn pretty much anything. Imagine learning physics with an AI tutor that teaches like Richard Feynman.

Karpathy's first course is named LLM101n. It's a college-level class that shows students how to build their own AI models. The best part? It's free on GitHub. Check it out here

Eureks Labs is not the only one leading the learning revolution in Ai, there are many including Khan Academy, Elsa, MagicSchool and many more. Numerous companies have secured venture capital to develop specialized AI tools for language learning, STEM education, and personalized tutoring.

I enjoy using ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity in my personal time to explore various subjects, from physics to philosophy to any random gyan. I love asking "why" or "how come" and delve deeper into topics for a thorough understanding—it's like having our own personal teaching assistants who teaches the way you want to learn.

That’s all for today..

But, before you go, could I also ask you to share your feedback about this newsletter and how can I contribute more in our time-space :)

And if you know someone who might also like this newsletter, forward us to them!

If you have anything else you’d like to tell me, don’t hesitate to write to [email protected].

Thank you and see you next week or even sooner!
